People of faith believe that if you are saved, then death is the final “enemy” you must overcome to reach true life. For christians, Jesus, God, and Heaven are life after death. This thought fully embodies the christian belief system. However, once Harry sacrifices himself, he finds life again after death. Harry is the final horcrux that must be destroyed – which means he must die if he wishes to defeat Voldemort. In his ongoing battle against Voldemort, Harry’s main goal is to destroy pieces of magic called horcruxes that keep Voldemort alive and strong. Then, he quickly realizes that the quote means conquering death by living beyond it. At first, the quote confuses Harry because he wonders why a quote about killing would be on his parents’ grave. This small quote clarifies exactly how far Harry must go. In some ways, it is almost like his mother and father are giving him encouragement to press on and finish what he has started.
It helps him understand even more the battle that he is fighting and what purposes he is fighting for. This quote on Harry’s parents’ tombstone is significant to the story in many ways. Either way, it describes that there will always be life after death with God. Then, God will have subjection over everything and there shall be no more death. During that time in the bible, the Kingdom of God will reign over the Earth and destroy all that is in it. I also think this passage somewhat alludes to the rapture and the days when the church is resurrected into Heaven. This verse describes how all men will die but those who live for God and have been saved will be alive in Him. This particular bible verse and chapter of the bible describes the resurrection of the dead. The tombstone reads: “The Last Enemy That Shall Be Destroyed Is Death.” This is a direct quote from 1 Corinthians 15:26 in the christian bible. Sure enough he and Hermione find a tombstone with his parents’ names on it. So naturally Harry wonders whether or not his parents may be buried there. While he is on the journey towards figuring out exactly how to defeat his enemies, he finds himself in the town his parents used to live in called Godric’s Hollow. During this story, Harry and his friends have come very close to winning the battle over Voldemort and his evil army. Rowling includes one explicit biblical allusion. In the final book, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, J.K. Therefore, there are many aspects of Rowling’s Harry Potter stories that imply she writes with christian foundations. There are forces for good and there are forces for bad each fight against one another to save their own worlds. The most obvious and simple theme of the stories is the battle between good and evil. Each novel/movie takes you through the various battles and hardships Harry and all of the other good witches and wizards face. Harry grew up with his dreadful aunt, uncle, and cousin until he was old enough to go attend Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Harry Potter is the main protagonist who lost his parents to Voldemort and the evil forces of the wizardry world when he was just a small baby.
Rowling! As most people know, the stories are about wizards and witches who live in a somewhat alternate world where magic exists.
